Is Yoshimasa Hosoya a “Tarzan Who Loves Nature”? Kensho Ono’s Deep Psychology Also Fully Revealed?

On July 24, 2025 (Thursday) at 10:00 PM, episode #12 of "Say You To Yo Asobi Thursday [Kensho Ono × Yoshimasa Hosoya]" was broadcast on the ABMEA Anime LIVE Channel. In this episode, Yoshimasa Hosoya, a former Thursday MC making his first regular appearance in about three years, filled in as a substitute MC. A segment titled "What Happened to Hosoya After That!?" was featured. The episode explored the deep psychology of Kensho Ono and Hosoya through psychological tests, similar to those conducted in the 2022 season.

■What Are the Deep Psychological Insights of Kensho Ono and Yoshimasa Hosoya?

This time, Hosoya appeared as a substitute MC for Natsuki Hanae. Together with Daisuke Namikawa, Hosoya was the Thursday MC in the 2022 season, and this regular broadcast marked his first appearance since "graduating" nearly three years prior. Upon his return to "Yo Asobi," he commented, "I'm finally back! I'm glad to return to Thursdays," and "Everything feels so nostalgic!" Viewers also welcomed him warmly with comments such as, "Welcome back, Hosoyan!" "I'm so happy for a Thursday with Hosoya!" and "We've been waiting for you!" thus kicking off the episode.

The program included a segment called "What Happened to Hosoya After That!?" featuring psychological tests just as in the 2022 season. While the 2022 test diagnosed participants based on their “ideal floor plan,” this time the theme was their “ideal garden.” Psychological counselor Mariko Ukiyo returned to interpret the two personalities, reading into their deep psychology from their “ideal gardens.”

First, Ono described a garden with an imposing front gate, a cherry blossom tree in the center, and tight security that excludes anyone who cannot pass facial recognition. Regarding this, Ukiyo sensei diagnosed, "You are particular about how others see you," and "A flowering tree shows a desire to have your colorful side seen by many people."

Additionally, noting the placement of benches and swings for entertaining guests, Ukiyo commented, "You are sociable and want to entertain others." Hosoya remarked, "You're an entertainer!" to which Ono reacted with, "Ah, how embarrassing!" but then admitted, "That's true! Maybe I do want to be seen by a lot of people," and "It’s true, I’m the type who neither refuses nor chases after people—I’m easygoing." He nodded, apparently convinced.

On the other hand, the security system that “excludes everyone who can't pass facial recognition” was interpreted by Ukiyo as “symbolic of a hidden self that you don’t show to others.” Hosoya, too, expressed curiosity, asking, "What’s that about!?" According to Ukiyo, "Although you are sociable, there is a side you don't want others to enter. I sense a determination to protect yourself and the people around you from those who may cause harm."

Ono exclaimed, "That’s spot on!" in surprise, and confessed, "It’s true, I’m merciless with people who have hurt me. I think, ‘I’ll never forgive you for life.’” Diagnostics also revealed “sincerity” and “future possibilities,” prompting Ono to react with satisfaction, saying, “Wow, I actually sound wonderful! So grown-up. Nothing but good vibes!” Regarding the “shadow” side that was revealed, he commented, “I’ll make sure that side doesn’t get too big.”
