These Are the Ageless Legs of a “Bimajo” (Beautiful Witch)…! Momo’s Grandmother in “DANDADAN” Was Shockingly Youthful

With her overwhelming strength, a body so youthful it hardly seems fitting to call her a “beautiful witch,” and the fact that this woman is a grandmother to a high school girl—Seiko Ayase (voiced by Nana Mizuki), the medium in “DANDADAN,” instantly captivated and baffled viewers.

The anime “DANDADAN,” currently streaming all at once, is based on the popular manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, serialized in “Shonen Jump+” (Shueisha). It is a supernatural battle youth story where high school student Momo Ayase (voiced by Shion Wakayama), born into a family of mediums, and her classmate Ken “Okarun” Takakura (voiced by Natsuki Hanae), an occult enthusiast, fight together against various mysterious phenomena.

In episode 3, Seiko confronts Okarun, who has been transformed by a curse from the yokai Turbo Granny (voiced by Mayumi Tanaka), in order to save Momo. Later revealed to be Momo’s grandmother and also a medium, Seiko makes her appearance in flamboyant clothes with a daringly open chest and bare legs, with not a single wrinkle on her skin and a flawless figure. She provokes the rampaging Okarun, taunting him with “Come on, bring it!” and shows exceptional strength by physically overpowering him with a metal bat-like weapon.
