New merchandise from "BANANA FISH," which marks its 40th anniversary since the start of serialization, will be released sequentially beginning August 12. A POP UP STORE event will also be held in Tokyo and Osaka.

"BANANA FISH" is a popular manga series by Akimi Yoshida that was serialized in "Betsucomi" (Shogakukan) from 1985 to 1994. Set in New York, it follows the story of street gang leader Ash Lynx and Japanese youth Eiji Okumura, depicting how their bond leads them to become embroiled in conspiracies and conflicts. A television anime adaptation was produced in 2018.

Starting August 12, the "BANANA FISH Entertainment Lottery" will be available exclusively at select Lawson and HMV stores, offering stylish daily-use items featuring original illustrations as prizes. On August 22, the "BANANA FISH Wafer Collect Box" will also be released. This product includes 36 types of normal cards and 6 types of rare cards featuring original illustrations. As a purchase bonus, customers will randomly receive one of 14 digital wallpaper images. Both items are available for in-store purchase only and are not sold online.

Additionally, POP UP STORE events will be held at HMV Esora Ikebukuro and HMV&BOOKS SHINSAIBASHI. During the event period, original merchandise featuring the series’ illustrations will be sold, and a special promotional photo gray card (randomly chosen from four types) will be given as a purchase privilege for every 4,000 yen spent on qualifying items, only at the event venue.

Furthermore, original goods will be available for reservation exclusively through @Loppi and HMV&BOOKS online. Products reserved via @Loppi can be picked up within seven days from the start date.
