The anime "Chibi Maruko-chan," which is currently streaming in one go, is based on a manga by Momoko Sakura and started airing in 1990. Set in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (present-day Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), it’s a comedy depicting the daily life of a third-grade elementary school student named Maruko, her family, and friends. Despite changes in voice actors, it has continued to be loved as a long-running series, celebrating its 35th anniversary in January 2025.
