The anime "Chibi Maruko-chan," currently being streamed in full, is based on the manga by Momoko Sakura and first aired in 1990. Set in Shimizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture (now Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture), it is a comedy depicting the daily life of Maruko, a third-grade elementary school student, her family, and friends. Despite changes in voice actors, it remains a beloved long-running series, reaching its 35th anniversary in January 2025.
