HYPER-PROJECTION ENGEKI: HAIKYU!! China Tour Begins! Reports and Comments from the Dress Rehearsal Unveiled

The HYPER-PROJECTION ENGEKI: HAIKYU!! China Tour kicked off on August 16 (Saturday) at the Bank of Communications Qiantan 31 Cultural and Performing Arts Center Grand Theatre in Shanghai. Ahead of the opening day, photos and press comments from the open dress rehearsal have been released.

HYPER-PROJECTION ENGEKI: HAIKYU!! is a stage adaptation of the popular volleyball manga "Haikyu!!" by Haruichi Furudate, which ran in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine until July 2020. Since its premiere in November 2015, the play has allowed the audience to experience the matches of Karasuno High School as though they are watching an actual volleyball game, immersing them as if they have stepped into the very venue of the original story’s matches. With this mission, the stage series has continued to push boundaries and deliver enthusiasm through 11 productions.

This staging is based on the original 2015 play and its 2016 rerun, "View from the Top", but with an all-new cast. Additionally, this China tour marks the largest overseas performance in Shonen Jump history, traveling through six cities including Shanghai and Beijing.
