“Because it uses as many as six bits...!” Why the Red Gundam became a nightmare for modelers [Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX]

The “Red Gundam” that appears in “Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” is known for its stylish design, but at the same time, it could be called a nightmare for modelers. The on-screen depiction, which seems extremely difficult to recreate in plastic model form, has elicited despairing cries from fans.

In Episode 2, a battle scene was shown in which Char Aznable (voiced by Yūki Shin) skillfully commands six bits mounted on the Red Gundam. While the dynamic attack, powered by Newtype abilities, has drawn high praise, these “six bits” have become a major headache for modelers.

The reason is that the “HG 1/144 Red Gundam,” released by BANDAI SPIRITS in May, only comes with two bits included. In other words, to fully recreate Char’s version with “six bits,” you would need to buy three kits or create extra bits on your own.
