Jinshi, Where's Your Usual Composure? Fans Grin at Jinshi’s Fluster Over a Glammed-up Maomao in "The Apothecary Diaries"

Looking back, this might have been the very moment Jinshi (voiced by Takeo Ōtsuka) first fell in love…!? Jinshi is usually playful and teases Maomao (voiced by Aoi Yūki), but in episode 5 of the anime "The Apothecary Diaries," he was unusually flustered when he saw her dressed up glamorously.

Born and raised in the red-light district, Maomao purposefully gave herself freckles and dressed plainly as a means of protecting herself. However, in episode 5, Maomao undergoes a dramatic transformation, donning vibrant attire and makeup to attend a garden party.

Jinshi is often quick to tease Maomao, but he was left speechless upon seeing her all dressed up. After momentarily freezing up, he finally snapped back to his senses, blushed deeply, and gave Maomao a kanzashi hairpin as a present, stammering, "Take this."
