“Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX” is the latest entry in the “Mobile Suit Gundam” franchise, which began in 1979. The story follows high school girl Amate Yuzuriha (voiced by Tomoyo Kurosawa), who leads a peaceful life on a space colony but becomes embroiled in the illegal mobile suit duels known as “Clan Battles” after encountering a mysterious girl named Nyaan (voiced by Yui Ishikawa).

The joint production between Studio Khara, known for the “Rebuild of Evangelion” series, and Sunrise has been drawing attention. The theatrical preview version, released in January ahead of the TV series, was a massive hit, earning approximately 3.4 billion yen at the box office. Even after the 12-episode run concluded in June, the series maintains high popularity, with new merchandise continuously being released and an original soundtrack scheduled for release on August 27. A special event was also held in July at “Anime Expo 2025,” the largest anime convention in North America, in Los Angeles.
