——I understand that this cosplay is based on the figurine "Zettai Ryouiki." Among the various costumes and creations in the series, why did you choose this particular figurine?
Natsume: This "Zettai Ryouiki" figurine beautifully captures the iconic battle scene between Asuka Langley Soryu and the EVA mass production models from the 'Eva' old movies, in a form that fuses with EVA Unit-02. It's a divine figure that I love, and since WF is an event where figurines and sculptural works take center stage, I wanted to create something I love in the form of cosplay, which led to this choice.
——What aspects did you want to express with this cosplay, and what are you particularly fond of?
Natsume: When it comes to the 'Eva' old movies, there's that iconic scene... and since this is a cosplay of a divinely sculpted figurine, I paid close attention to the overall size and color scheme of the sculpture. Additionally, I practiced setting the wig and makeup repeatedly to resemble the character design from the old movies, which I'm personally satisfied with.
——Do you have any announcements or future cosplays you would like to try?
Natsume: I plan to participate in cosplay at this year's biggest otaku event, Winter Comiket (Comiket 50th!) Of course! I'm still contemplating what to cosplay... In the future, I would love to try making more intricate costumes, such as fursuits or robots, which I haven't challenged myself with yet.
——Thank you very much!
Natsume showcased a cosplay unique to Wonder Festival, inspired by a figurine she fell in love with. There is growing anticipation for the kinds of works she will create in the future, given her deep commitment to sculpting.
