Kaiju No. 8: Special Website for "Unit 1 vs Unit 3 Rivalry Vote" Open! New Captain & Vice-Captain Cast Members Announced

Episode 18 of the anime Kaiju No. 8, titled "Compatible Person," aired on August 23, and the anime's official website has launched a special page for the "Unit 1 vs Unit 3 Rivalry Vote."

In episode 18, Unit 3 Vice-Captain Sōshirō Hoshina visits Unit 1’s Ariake Rinkai Base bringing intelligence on Kaiju No. 9. There, he confronts Unit 1 Captain Gen Narumi, and a scene emblematic of their antagonistic relationship was depicted. To commemorate this broadcast, the "Unit 1 vs Unit 3 Rivalry Vote" special website is now live. The voting period runs through Tuesday, September 30, at 23:59 JST, with results to be announced on the official website and social media at a later date.

Additionally, the cast members for new characters appearing in the second season have been revealed. Yūko Kaida will play Jura Igarashi, Captain of Unit 2; Shunsuke Sakuya will play Shūgo Ogata, Captain of Unit 4; and M.A.O will portray Tōko Kirinomori, Vice-Captain of Unit 4. These new characters have already stood out for their unique personalities during the Division Leaders’ meeting. Attention is also on how Haruichi Izumo and Aoi Kaguragi, now assigned to Unit 2, as well as Reno Ichikawa and Iharu Furuhashi, newly joining Unit 4, will be involved in the story moving forward.
