Anime "Shin chan" Changes Opening Theme Song for First Time in 5 Years: FRUITS ZIPPER's New Song "Hachamecha Wacha Life!" Selected [With Comments]

It has been announced that idol group FRUITS ZIPPER's latest song "Hachamecha Wacha Life!" will be used as the new opening theme for the anime "Shin chan" starting in October. This marks the first change of the opening theme for "Shin chan" in five years, since 2020.

FRUITS ZIPPER is a seven-member group consisting of Amane Tsukiashi, Suzuka Chinzei, Yui Sakurai, Ruka Nakagawa, Mana Manaka, Karen Matsumoto, and Noel Hayase. Their 2022 release "Watashi no Ichiban Kawaii Tokoro" became a sensation mainly on TikTok, amassing over 3 billion total views. In 2023, the song won the 65th Japan Record Awards’ Best New Artist Award, and the group is set to hold their first concert at Tokyo Dome in February 2026.

The news of the new theme song was announced by the members themselves at an event for their own show "FRUITS ZIPPER no NEW KAWAII tte shiteyo?" (TV Asahi). The members commented, "It's such a powerful song, you'll want to start dancing like Shin chan" and "We'd be happy if families, friends, and everyone could listen to it together."
