The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho period, the story follows the battle of a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, whose family was slaughtered by demons. The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which started airing in April 2019, quickly became a sensation, and its sequel, "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train," surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. To date, the manga has achieved a total worldwide circulation of 220 million copies, making it a historic mega-hit in manga and anime.

After the "Unwavering Resolve Arc," the TV anime continued with the "Entertainment District Arc," the "Swordsmith Village Arc," and the "Hashira Training Arc." It has also been announced that “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle,” which covers the final episodes, will be produced as a trilogy. The first part, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle – The First Chapter: Akaza Returns," has already surpassed 25.7 billion yen at the box office in its first month since opening on July 18, 2025.
