Anime "Ranma 1/2" Season 2 to Begin Airing on Nippon TV from October 4! Kazuhiko Inoue, Ako Mayama, and Akira Ishida Join as Additional Cast Members [With Comments]

Broadcast information for the TV anime "Ranma 1/2" Season 2 has been announced. Starting Saturday, October 4, the show will air weekly on Nippon TV at 24:55. It will also be available for exclusive streaming on Netflix immediately following the broadcast.

Alongside this announcement, additional cast members have been revealed: Kazuhiko Inoue as Happosai, Ako Mayama as Cologne, and Akira Ishida as Hikaru Gosunkugi. Comments from the cast have also arrived. Further information on the characters played by these three has been released, including character visuals by designer Hiromi Taniguchi and detailed profiles.

Details about the theme songs have also been disclosed. The opening theme will be "Wo Ai Ni" by Wednesday Campanella, and the ending theme will be "Panda Girl" by nishina. Wednesday Campanella commented, "While incorporating the atmosphere of the original work, we blended in mahjong and cooking terminology to give the song a playful and catchy vibe." Nishina shared, "I aimed to create a song that makes you look forward to the next episode."

In addition, a digest movie recapping Season 1 of the anime has been released. With brand-new narration by Kappei Yamaguchi (as Ranma Saotome, male) and Megumi Hayashibara (as Ranma Saotome, female), viewers can catch up on the story in about four and a half minutes. On October 4, a special advance screening of Season 2 will be held at United Cinemas Toyosu, with Kappei Yamaguchi and Noriko Hidaka scheduled to appear on stage.
