The "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. Set in the Taisho era, it tells the story of a young boy, Tanjiro Kamado, who fights after his family is killed by demons. The TV anime "Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began airing in April 2019, quickly became a sensation. The sequel, "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train," surpassed 50 billion yen in worldwide box office revenue. Now, the cumulative worldwide circulation of the original manga exceeds 220 million copies, making it a historic hit in the realm of Japanese manga and anime.

The TV anime continued sequentially through the "Unwavering Resolve Arc," the "Entertainment District Arc," the "Swordsmith Village Arc," and the "Hashira Training Arc." It was also announced that the final story arc, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle," will be produced as a trilogy. The first installment, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle - Chapter 1: Akaza Returns," which has been screening since July 18, 2025, has recorded box office earnings of 28 billion yen in just 38 days.
