[Photos/Images] The Sentiment Behind "So You're Not a Zenin, Good For You"—The "Emotion" Leaking From Toji Fushiguro's Lips Toward His Son in "Jujutsu Kaisen" 1st

The affection Toji Fushiguro (voiced by Takehito Koyasu) showed for his son—the final line in episode 40 of the "Jujutsu Kaisen" anime—left a profound impression on many viewers, eliciting reactions such as "Toji did have feelings after all" and "The sheer humanity he showed at the very end is just something else."

Known by the alias "Sorcerer Killer," Toji Fushiguro was born without any cursed energy. In exchange, he possesses exceptional physical abilities, making him a physical prodigy. He is also the father of Megumi Fushiguro (voiced by Yūma Uchida), who is classmates with Yūji Itadori (voiced by Junya Enoki). However, Toji left Megumi when he was just a child and walked away from his family.

In episode 40, the story unfolds as Toji, resurrected in the present through seance sorcery, confronts his son Megumi in a "parent-child showdown." In a berserk state, Toji corners Megumi, but upon realizing that his opponent is his own son, he regains his senses. He then recalls his own past attempt to sell Megumi to the Zenin Family and asks, "What's your name?" When Megumi replies "Fushiguro," Toji softly responds, "So you're not a Zenin, good for you," before taking his own life.
