——What was the reason you decided to cosplay as Mari Makinami Illustrious from the 'Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance' series?

Ria: The trigger was the celebration of Evangelion's 30th anniversary and the Evangelion Wonder Festival. I thought, "I want to cosplay my beloved Mari!"

——What did you focus on in this cosplay?

Ria: The plug suit clearly shows the body shape, so I worked on muscle training and sculpting my physique, but I still have a long way to go (laughs).

——What got you interested in 'Evangelion', and what aspects do you find appealing?

Ria: I got hooked when I watched the rerun of the anime series. The content left me puzzled and curious, leading me to read various analyses and watch it multiple times. Before I knew it, I was captivated by its unique world and characters.

——Are there any other cosplays you would like to try in the future?

Ria: I still want to continue cosplaying as Mari from 'Evangelion' and try various versions. Besides that, as an old-school cosplayer, I would like to cosplay from nostalgic works.

——Thank you very much!

Ria dedicated herself to sculpting her physique for the cosplay. Her costume perfectly captured Mari's slender charm.
