Kingdom is set in China during the Warring States period and follows the ambitious boy Shin, who aspires to become the greatest general under the heavens, and the young king Ei Sei, the future Qin Shi Huang. The original manga by Yasuhisa Hara is currently serialized in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha). The comic series has surpassed 110 million copies in circulation. In 2024, the fourth live-action film, "Kingdom: The Return of the Great General," was released and achieved box office revenues of 8 billion yen. The TV anime has aired Seasons 1 to 5, with Season 6 scheduled to premiere in October 2025.

As Shin, now bearing Ō Ki’s glaive, charges forward on his path to becoming a great general, all six recap movies covering Seasons 1 through 5 of the Kingdom TV anime are being released in anticipation of the upcoming Season 6 broadcast.

Recap Video 1 summarizes episodes 1 to 15 of Season 1, covering the reclamation of the royal capital. It tells the story of Shin and Hyou, two boys training relentlessly day and night with the dream of becoming the world’s greatest generals. Hyou is recognized by Minister Shō Bun Kun and sent to the royal palace, but gets swept up in a coup d’état. On the verge of death, Hyou entrusts Shin with a map.

At the end of Shin’s journey, he meets Ei Sei, the king who strikingly resembles Hyou. Together with Ei Sei and Karyō Ten, whom they encounter along the way, they head to Xianyang with the mountain tribe leader Yō Tan Wa, aiming to reclaim the throne stolen by Ei Sei’s half-brother Sei Kyō. This digest traces the origins of both Ei Sei’s ambition to unify China and Shin’s journey to become a great general.
