——What motivated you to cosplay Toru Asakura from "The IDOLM@STER Shiny Colors" this time?

Chiaki Misato (hereafter, Misato): I've done several cosplays from the "The IDOLM@STER" series, but I've always wanted to cosplay Toru Asakura from "Shiny Colors".

I've done a casual cosplay of Toru Asakura before, but this time, I've finally managed to do it in her idol costume!! Considering the harsh heat of the summer Comiket, I thought the refreshing look of noctiluca's costume was perfect.

——What points did you want to express or like about this cosplay?

Misato: Not only this time, but every time I cosplay, I think about 'deformation to bring 2D into 3D'. In the process of cosplaying, there are some unnatural parts when it's converted into 3D, but I try to eliminate them as much as possible by imagining the texture and naturalness of the hairstyle.

For the costume of Toru Asakura this time, I made decisions like 'I feel this accessory would look more authentic if made with resin' or 'The wig seems to have too much hair as it is, so maybe I can boldly cut it'. Wigs can't afford to fail so it's nerve-wracking, but I keep trying and making adjustments. The part of the costume I'm most pleased with is the wave pattern I dyed on the fabric.
