Shiki Awakens as the Flame Demon God “Enki”… Synopsis and Preview Stills Released for Episode 10 of Anime “Tougen Anki”

The synopsis and preview stills for Episode 10 of the anime “Tougen Anki” have been released.

“Tougen Anki” is an anime based on the manga by Yura Urushibara, which is currently a popular serialization in “Weekly Shonen Champion” (Akita Shoten) and has surpassed 4 million copies in total. The story takes inspiration from the familiar Japanese folk tale “Momotaro,” depicting a fierce conflict between descendants of Oni (demons) and those with the blood of Momotaro.

Shiki Ichinose (voiced by Kazuki Ura), a boy who used to live as an ordinary human, is suddenly attacked one day by a mysterious man belonging to the “Momotaro Agency.” While fleeing with his adoptive father, he learns that their pursuers are descendants of Momotaro and that he himself is a descendant of Oni. This is a story about the modern descendants of Momotaro and Oni—a tale quite different from the classic “Once upon a time, there was an old man and an old woman.”
