The anime “DANDADAN” is adapted from the popular manga by original creator Yukinobu Tatsu, serialized on Shueisha’s “Shonen Jump+.” It is an occult-themed battle and coming-of-age story about Momo Ayase (voiced by Shion Wakayama), a high school girl from a line of spiritual mediums, and her classmate Ken “Okarun” Takakura, an occult enthusiast, as they face various supernatural phenomena.

[Synopsis]
Thanks to Kinta’s efforts, Momo and Okarun manage to drive off an “invisible something” wielding golden balls. As the optical camouflage fades, what emerges is a space kaiju. The three are attacked by the now-giant space kaiju. The entire town is swallowed by an engulfing darkness, trapping not only the trio, but also Aira and Jiji.
