"Chiikawa" is a popular manga series that illustrator Nagano began serializing on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the 2022 Japan Character Awards and, announced in July 2024, also won the Grand Prix at the 2024 Japan Character Awards. The gap between the small, cute characters and the harsh world they live in has gained wide popularity among both adults and children, and the account currently has over 4.23 million followers.

The new series of the anime "Chiikawa" is currently airing within the Fuji TV "Mezamashi TV" program starting July 15, 2025. Additionally, on July 28, an experiential facility called "Chiikawa Park" opened in Ikebukuro’s Sunshine City Annex.
