Starting from August, the overseas release of "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle - Chapter 1: The Return of Akaza" began sequentially, and it has been announced that the cumulative number of viewers worldwide, including Japan, has surpassed 55,004,375, and the cumulative worldwide box office revenue has exceeded 68,015,243,965 yen.

The anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba" is an adaptation of the manga of the same name that was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump (Shueisha) from 2016 to 2020. Sparked by the TV anime broadcast in April 2019, it caused a social phenomenon, leading to the comic series reaching a cumulative circulation of over 220 million copies across its 23 volumes.

Following the first TV anime series, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," came the story arc "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train," which recorded a total box office revenue of approximately 51.7 billion yen, becoming the highest-grossing film of all time in Japan. The TV anime adaptations "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc" and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc" aired from 2021 to 2022, "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc" in 2023, and "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc" in 2024.

"Infinity Castle - Chapter 1" drew an audience of 3.84 million and earned 5.52 billion yen in its first three days, setting new records for historical number one in opening performance, opening day, and single-day box office. Within ten days of release, it surpassed approximately 12.87 billion yen. Reaching 10 billion yen in just eight days from release is the fastest pace among all movies screened in Japan, overtaking the previous record set by "Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train" (released October 2020), which reached 10 billion yen in ten days, making it the new all-time number one.

In North America, where it premiered on September 12, the film achieved the highest-opening record for a Japanese anime film—an all-time number one—drawing an audience of 6,008,511 and grossing $70.6 million (about 10.237 billion yen at 145 yen to the dollar), breaking a 26-year-old record. Other regions outside Japan where the film opened between September 11–12 also saw various new records established.
