The tenth episode of the horror anime "The Summer Hikaru Died" has been airing sequentially since September 13. In the opening scene, Yoshiki Tsujinaka (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) frantically tries to reattach the severed head of Hikaru (voiced by Shūichirō Umeda), all while in a state of hysteria. This shocking scene left viewers stunned, with reactions like "In a panic right from the start" and "That was intense from the get-go."

Hikaru Indou, the protagonist Yoshiki's best friend, was replaced by an inhuman "something" after a certain incident. While trying to keep his true identity hidden from those around him, he continued to stay with Yoshiki. However, at the end of episode 9, the mysterious man Tanaka (voiced by Chikahiro Kobayashi) cut Hikaru's neck with a sword.

In episode 10, titled "The Truth," Yoshiki stands stunned, holding Hikaru's head. Then, a mysterious and oozing sludge starts pouring from the cross-section of the neck, spreading throughout the room. Even as Yoshiki panics, he desperately tries to align the head and body, muttering, "Stick together, stick together, stick together..." Eventually, the ooze surges back into Hikaru's body, and the head and torso reattach successfully. Yoshiki then collapses and loses consciousness.
