The anime "My Hero Academia" FINAL SEASON will begin airing on October 4th (Saturday). To celebrate the upcoming broadcast, a special project has been launched featuring the various opening and ending theme songs and the impressive lineup of artists who have helped energize the "My Hero Academia" TV anime.
"My Hero Academia" is based on the popular manga by Kohei Horikoshi. Set in a society where people possess abilities known as "Quirks," the story follows protagonist Izuku Midoriya as he strives to become a hero. The manga concluded its serialization in 2024, with total comic sales surpassing 100 million copies. The TV anime has continued since its first season in 2016, and the FINAL SEASON, scheduled to begin airing on October 4, will mark the eighth season of the series.
For the TV anime "My Hero Academia," a total of 26 songs performed by 26 different artists have been featured as the opening and ending themes from Season 1 in 2016 through Season 7 in 2024, enhancing and coloring the story throughout its run.
In the project entitled "My Hero Academia Historic OP & ED One For All," the featured artists, who have passed the baton by performing the OP and ED themes for each season of "My Hero Academia," are highlighted just like the "One For All" Quirk inherited by protagonist Izuku Midoriya.
Starting with Porno Graffitti, who performed the first season's OP theme "THE DAY," the artists' messages explaining the feelings they poured into their songs, as well as their thoughts for fans and viewers, will be released sequentially on the anime's official website and official X account. Additionally, all 26 types of non-credit OP & ED videos from Seasons 1 to 7 will be released sequentially on the official "My Hero Academia" X, TikTok, and Instagram accounts.
