The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series is based on the manga of the same name by Koyoharu Gotoge, which was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2016 to 2020. The story depicts Tanjiro, a boy whose family was killed by demons, as he battles for his loved ones during the Taisho Era.

The TV anime "Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Tanjiro Kamado, Unwavering Resolve Arc," which began airing in April 2019, quickly became a hot topic. Following the Unwavering Resolve Arc, the TV anime continued with the Entertainment District Arc, Swordsmith Village Arc, and Hashira Training Arc. The climactic episodes—the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle—were announced as a trilogy. The first chapter, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba The Movie: Infinity Castle - Akaza Returns, which premiered on July 18, 2025, grossed over 33 billion yen in the first 60 days. The film’s overseas release is underway, and the combined global box office has surpassed 68 billion yen, including Japan.
