The Love That Brought Emilia from 'Re:ZERO' to Life in Cosplay: 'Driven by the Desire to Stand Beside My Favorite Character'

—— What made you decide to cosplay as Emilia from 'Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-' this time?

Kisaragi Cocoa (hereafter referred to as Kisaragi): The primary reason is that 'Re:ZERO' is a work that I love. Among the characters, my favorite is the protagonist Subaru Natsuki, and driven by the desire to stand beside my favorite character, I chose to cosplay as Emilia, the heroine he loves.

Many cosplayers tend to want to portray their favorite characters, but I am the type who prefers to play characters surrounding my favorite and admire them from that position. Of course, it's essential to have love and understanding for the character I choose to portray.

—— What aspects did you want to express with this cosplay?

Kisaragi: I hoped to express Emilia's beautiful and elegant traits, while also capturing her slightly absent-minded and fluffy nature, along with her cool demeanor when she needs to be assertive.

—— How did you first encounter 'Re:ZERO', and what do you find appealing about it?

Kisaragi: I first encountered it through the anime, but during the Sanctuary arc, I was so captivated that before I knew it, I had the novels in my hands. There are many appealing aspects to this work, but it is filled with foreshadowing, and I might accidentally spoil something, so I encourage everyone to experience it for themselves and feel its charm. I believe the way these foreshadowings are eventually revealed is one of the charms of 'Re:ZERO'.

Kisaragi: I regularly participate in cosplay events, and I plan to attend this year's Winter Comiket as well. I love 'Re:ZERO' so much that I hope to expand the range of characters I can portray.
