Childhood Friend Turns Monstrous! Horror Unfolds in "The Summer Hikaru Died" Episode 11: "I Literally Let Out a Scream"

The eleventh episode of the horror anime "The Summer Hikaru Died" began airing on September 20. In this episode, Hikaru (voiced by Shūichirō Umeda) suddenly loses his sense of self and attacks his best friend, Yoshiki Tsujinaka (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi). Hikaru Indou, Yoshiki's childhood friend, was replaced by something non-human—an entity—after a certain incident. Although Yoshiki is aware that Hikaru is no longer human, he continues to be with him.

In episode 11, "Indou's Door," the two are walking down the school hallway when Hikaru suddenly undergoes a strange transformation. Hikaru comes to a halt, and in the next moment, his eyes change drastically. With something ominous oozing out from his neck, he menacingly approaches Yoshiki. Realizing, "I have to get out of here," Yoshiki starts running and hides, holding his breath around the next corner. But when he looks up, he finds 'Hikaru' standing there, no longer retaining even a trace of his original form...
