“Chilled roast pork,” “Chilled simmered dish”... Which Dish Won the “No.1 Chilled Gourmet Battle”? Showtaro Morikubo Complains, “It’s Not Chilled Enough!”

On ABEMA, episode #17 of the “Anime LIVE Channel” show “Say You To Yo Asobi Saturday” aired on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 9 p.m. In this episode, they held a special segment called “Let’s Decide the No.1 Chilled Gourmet!” in which the cast intentionally chilled traditionally hot dishes and decided which one tasted best when cold.

First to appear was “Chilled roast pork,” selected by Masaya Fukunishi. Nobuhiko Okamoto commented, “It’s simply delicious,” and “It’s really good—is this a brand-name one?” Next up was “Chilled Pizza,” recommended by the staff, but Okamoto said, “Why did you pick this? The crust is hard,” to which Showtaro Morikubo added, “Did you chill a pizza after baking it until golden brown? Are you crazy!” Fukunishi also noted, “This could affect the show's credibility from now on,” steering the segment forward. All three agreed that pizza tastes better warm. Morikubo remarked, “It feels like eating leftover pizza from delivery,” while Fukunishi described it as “the feeling after everyone’s left the party,” reflecting on scenarios where one might eat cold pizza.

Morikubo’s recommended “Chilled Chocolate” had Okamoto exclaiming, “Oh man! This is the winner!” as he quickly devoured an entire piece. For Okamoto’s choice of “Chilled Roasted Sweet Potato,” he said, “Maybe it’s not chilled enough...” Morikubo commented, “Overall, it needs to be more chilled. If you’re going to chill it, go for rock solid! I want to be able to say, ‘I’m freezing, my whole body’s cold!’”
