“Chiikawa” is a popular manga series started in 2020 by illustrator Nagano, posted on X (formerly Twitter). It won the Grand Prix at the “Japan Character Awards 2022” and again at the “Japan Character Awards 2024” announced in July 2024. The adorable small characters and the gap with the harsh worldview have gained wide popularity among adults and children alike, and the series now has over 4.26 million followers.

The anime “Chiikawa” is currently airing a new series on Fuji TV's “Mezamashi TV” from July 15, 2025. Also, on July 28, the experiential facility “Chiikawa Park” opened in Ikebukuro at Sunshine City Annex.
