“The Summer Hikaru Died” (abbreviated as “Hikanatsu”) is an original coming-of-age horror manga by Mokumokuren, currently serialized on the manga site “Young Ace UP” (KADOKAWA), weaving together the trembling emotions of youth and a chilling sense of fear.

The story depicts ordinary high schooler Yoshiki (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) experiencing a series of bizarre and mysterious incidents in his daily life while living with a mysterious “Something” that mimics his childhood friend, Hikaru (voiced by Shūichirō Umeda). The spine-chilling developments, filled with madness between the “Something” and the boy, have captivated many readers, with the total number of copies in the original series surpassing 3 million.
