An Original Art Exhibition Where You Can Fully Experience the World of the Manga—Announcing the “CITY HUNTER Original Art Exhibition ～FOREVER, CITY HUNTER!!～”

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the start of serialization of “CITY HUNTER,” which ran in “Weekly Shonen Jump” from 1985 to 1991, the largest exhibition in the history of the work, “CITY HUNTER Original Art Exhibition ～FOREVER, CITY HUNTER!!～” (hereafter, the CITY HUNTER Exhibition), will be held at Ueno Royal Museum from Saturday, November 22, 2025 through Sunday, December 28, 2025. Tickets for this exhibition will go on sale from 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 25.

Based on the popular manga by Tsukasa Hojo, which was serialized in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (Shueisha) starting in 1985, “CITY HUNTER” is an anime series. Set in Shinjuku, the story depicts the life of Ryo Saeba (voiced by Akira Kamiya), the number one “sweeper” (hitman) in the underworld known as “CITY HUNTER,” and his partner Kaori Makimura (voiced by Kazue Ikura). The series is a hard-boiled action comedy filled with emotion, seriousness, and laughter.

This exhibition is dedicated to all fans who have been captivated by “CITY HUNTER” and serves as the largest in the series' history, packed with the most memorable scenes and lines that have left a mark on everyone’s hearts.

A cool, comical, sometimes heartrending and moving story—these powerful emotions will be condensed and presented here.

On display will be more than 400 awe-inspiring original pieces of hand-drawn artwork. In addition, fans can look forward to rare materials, photo spots for immersion in the world of the series, special videos, and many more must-see exhibits.
