Spitz to Perform Season 3 OP Theme Song for Anime "SPY x FAMILY"! Masamune Kusano: “I hope the song truly complements the series.”

The opening theme song for the TV anime "SPY x FAMILY" Season 3 has been decided: it will be performed by Spitz. The song, titled "Hi o Mamoru," marks the first time Spitz has written a song specifically for a TV anime.

"SPY x FAMILY" is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, which has been serialized in "Shonen Jump+" since March 2019. The latest volume released is volume 15, and the series has surpassed 38 million copies in circulation. The anime aired Season 1 in 2022 and Season 2 in 2023, with Official HIGE DANDism, BUMP OF CHICKEN, and Ado previously performing the opening theme songs. Season 3 is scheduled to premiere on October 4 (Saturday) at 11:00 PM on TV Tokyo and related networks.

This announcement was made during the stage greeting at the Season 3 advance screening event held at seven theaters, including Lawson United Cinema STYLE-S Minatomirai. At the venue, the creditless opening sequence featuring Spitz’s new song was revealed as a surprise. The storyboards and direction for this opening sequence were handled by animator and director Shingo Natsume, known for works such as the original anime "Sonny Boy".
