“Chiikawa” is a popular manga series posted on X (formerly Twitter) by illustrator Nagano since 2020. It won the Grand Prize at both the “Japan Character Awards 2022” and the “Japan Character Awards 2024,” announced in July 2024. The contrast between the tiny, cute characters and the harsh world they inhabit has gained widespread popularity among both children and adults, and the account now boasts over 4.27 million followers.

The new series of the “Chiikawa” anime is currently airing within the “Mezamashi TV” program on the Fuji TV network since July 15, 2025. Additionally, on July 28, an interactive facility called “Chiikawa Park” opened at Ikebukuro Sunshine City Annex.
