I’m Haruki Ishiya, and I will be voicing Hikaru Gero in the TV anime MARRIAGETOXIN. It is a tremendous honor and honestly thrilling to have been entrusted with the main character role in a series I look forward to reading every week in Shonen Jump+. I was so happy when I learned I got the part that I couldn’t help but fist pump and shout “Yes!” The unique characters, the worldview, the beautiful illustrations, the battles, and the marriage hunting. I’m really looking forward to seeing how all of these elements are brought to life through animation. Please look forward to it!

Hikaru Gero:
Heir to the Gero family, one of the Five Great Houses of “Poison Users,” considered some of the top professionals in the assassin underworld. An elite assassin without any experience in romance due to his involvement in the underground world; he is not good with women. Out of necessity to inherit his family, he begins marriage hunting. His hobby is candy toys.

■ Shion Wakayama as Mei Kinosaki - Comment
I’m Shion Wakayama, and I’ll be playing the role of Mei Kinosaki. I am truly delighted to be involved in this series, which I always look forward to as it’s updated. Mei is a marriage swindler and a marriage hunting advisor, but what makes her incredibly cute is how hard she works for Gero’s happiness. I will do my absolute best to deliver her loveliness with all I’ve got. Please look forward to the TV anime MARRIAGETOXIN!

Mei Kinosaki:
A highly skilled marriage swindler who boasts that she can seduce almost anyone, regardless of gender, in 30 seconds. After meeting Gero, she winds up helping him with his marriage hunting in an unexpected turn of events. She loves delicious food and, despite her appearance, is a heavy eater.

My deepest gratitude to Yoda-sensei, my editor in charge, and all the readers who supported us!! I’ve had the chance to be a little involved in the production, and the depth of understanding shown by Director Hori, Character Designer Tokuoka, Series Composer/Scriptwriter Ueno, and all the anime staff… It’s tremendous. Each meeting polished the series further and further—it was mesmerizing to watch it become even more interesting. Furthermore, I was able to sit in on the recording of Episode 1… With Ishiya as Gero and Wakayama as Kinosaki, and the stellar performances of all the voice cast, I am convinced: this anime will absolutely be a masterpiece!
