From episode 1, the series vividly depicts scenes of dazzling youth. When asked if they had any wishes or regrets about youth—like “I wish I could have had an adolescence like that!”—Hasegawa sparked laughter in the audience by immediately replying, “I only have regrets…” Anzai quickly countered, “But that’s what makes Ikumi Hasegawa who she is today!” earning applause. Hasegawa reminisced, “I mostly watched Nico Nico Douga and went to karaoke by myself to sing Vocaloid songs. It wasn’t meaningless…” Anzai, who moved to Tokyo at 15, wondered aloud, “If I’d lived a typical high school life, maybe I would have read books by the riverside—maybe I’d have been reading ‘Phantom Lady.’” Mentioning a book from the story, Anzai concluded, “I can't read such cool books, but I really do admire that kind of thing.”
Looking ahead, Sakata highlighted, “Each heroine in ‘Chiramune’ has her own episode. Every story is deep and rich. Since we spend plenty of time on each, just one episode feels as fulfilling as a whole season. Please look forward to it!” Okubo urged, “As I mentioned at ‘Kyomafu,’ I first want everyone to get to know Saku. The heroines’ charms will be brought out in full, but I hope you notice Saku in episode 1 first.” When Okubo pointed out that even suddenly inserted scenes all have meaning, the other cast commented, “Wow, your perspective is like a scriptwriter’s!” Anzai chimed in, “When I was late to the kickoff party, Rumi-Rumi (Okubo) was surrounded by production staff—it looked like a conference!” Okubo, standing in for the production team, added, “Everything has meaning and is connected, so please watch all two cours thoroughly!” She humorously apologized for her “passionate speech,” leaving the audience laughing.
Hasegawa commented, “While it does include romance, the story also explores how to live as a person and how to relate to others. The main characters may seem glamorous within the school, but their struggles and experiences are depicted with great care. I think you’ll grow attached to each of them.” Even characters like Saku, who appear dazzling on the surface, harbor worries and have gone through various experiences, and Hasegawa explained she’s looking forward to how viewers will interpret that.
In her closing remarks, Anzai touched on the Tokyo and Fukui event lotteries, expressing her delight: “I’m happy to be part of a work that so many people are looking forward to, that’s so loved.” She continued, “And it all takes place in Fukui. It makes me shy, but I’m also happy. There’s a sparkling youth here that’ll almost drown you in its brilliance—it’s so overwhelming it almost hurts. Please watch over us until the very end,” expressing her special feelings for the project.
Hasegawa called out, “From episode 1, there are so many packed, heart-wrenching depictions of youth. As adults, we tend to idealize youth as pure and precious, but I was reminded that youth includes both the sweet and the bitter. Please watch as the characters crash into the walls before them.” Okubo added, “Youth shines, but as a student you face a lot of worries and obstacles, and that gritty reality is also depicted here. It’s a series that’ll remind you of those feelings, and you’ll find yourself relating, too. When I read the original novel, it’s almost alarming how my favorite character changes with each chapter, but that’s what makes it great. The cast also participates in various projects, and discovering their unexpected sides is entertaining. Enjoy all the special features as you follow both cours!”
Yomiya shared, “From the very first recording, the hearts, voices, and words born from everyone’s performances became animation, and I was filled with excitement and anticipation about what kind of world would unfold. Yua may extend her kindness in many directions, but I tried to stay close to her feelings in my performance. Please warmly watch over us until the end!” After recommending the character’s charms, she emphasized, “It’s not just about sparkling youth; each heroine seems perfect in her own way, but that’s not the case. Their backgrounds and vulnerabilities are precious. The series is filled with scenes and dialogues you’ll fall in love with, want to support, and relate to. Saku gives encouraging words to many—don’t miss a single episode, and let yourself fully experience the story. It’s truly a beautiful work, so I hope you’ll look forward to it!” urging attention to Saku’s lines in particular.
Sakata concluded, “Hiromu-sensei’s beautiful prose is rendered beautifully. That alone makes me excited for what’s to come.” Speaking about playing Saku, he said, “With the show airing over two split cours, I hope viewers can feel Saku’s way of life. There’ll be many struggles and stories, and I think everyone’s heart will be moved week after week. Please enjoy watching, and thank you for your support!” Thus, the event came to a close.
