[Photos/Images] Can't Miss the Zeon Swimming Club! Fans Delighted with the Appearance of Gogg and Z'Gok in "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX" 1st

In the 9th episode of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX," the amphibious mobile suits affectionately referred to as the "Zeon Swimming Club" by fans made an appearance. When Gogg and Z'Gok emerged from the sea, the internet was abuzz with comments like "Swimming Club in the Reiwa era!?" and "Too nostalgic, I cried."

The term "Zeon Swimming Club" is a fan nickname for the amphibious mobile suits (Gogg, Z'Gok, Acguy, and Zock) that appeared in the First Gundam. Even over 40 years after their debut, this nickname remains popular, evoking a sense of excitement at just a glance.

In episode 9, two suits, Gogg and Z'Gok, made their appearance. Although Acguy and Zock were not seen, fans online lamented, "If the other two had appeared, it would have completed the Swimming Club."

The creators' "playful spirit" also drew attention. According to Hideaki Anno, the scene was realized based on a suggestion to director Kazuya Tsurumaki that "having traces of underwater work would add realism to the scene, and since only the parts above the shoulders are drawn, the burden on the production team is light." Despite their brief appearance, Gogg and Z'Gok played a significant role in raising the "Rose of Sharon (Elmeth)" from the seabed.

Fans expressed their excitement with comments like "The Zeon Swimming Club salvaging things is so thrilling," "I want to see them in battle next," and "So much presence despite the short scene." The nostalgic mobile suits certainly left an impact with their brief appearance.
