On October 15th, the official X account for "Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" announced the series' hiatus, and fans responded with messages of encouragement.
The announcement explained that the reason for the hiatus was "in consideration of the health of Kanehito Yamada-sensei and Tsukasa Abe-sensei," stating, "In order to continue delivering the story while adjusting the serialization pace and publication format, we will be taking a hiatus for a while."
In response to this post, fans sent an outpouring of messages showing concern for the creators' health and offering encouragement, such as "Please take your time and rest," "No matter how many years I have to wait, this will always be my favorite work," and "I'll wait as if I were an elf."
"Frieren: Beyond Journey's End" is a comic series by Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe, serialized in "Weekly Shonen Sunday," and is a popular work with over 30 million copies in circulation worldwide. The second season of the television anime adaptation is scheduled to begin airing in January 2026.
