On October 15th, manga artist Kazutoshi Soyama announced on his X account the start of serialization for the latest work in the series, 'Mecha Kawa▽Dendjarasu Jii-san'. Fans have expressed shock over the "too bold" illustration attached to the post.

The illustration, accompanied by the caption "A super cute▽new serialization is starting~!!", was drawn in a style reminiscent of "something small and cute". Fans raised voices of surprise at this overly impactful artwork, saying "They actually did it...", "A completely new 'Jii-kawa'... is that what this is!?", and "Too dangerous www".

Additionally, those familiar with the style of 'Dendjarasu Jii-san' were also seen posting their predictions for the punchline, such as "I bet when you turn the cover page, the old man will be firing a bazooka!" and "Probably on the next page, the old man will appear while tearing up this illustration".

The 'Dendjarasu Jii-san' series is a comic drawn by Kazutoshi Soyama that began serialization in September 2001. While the most recent series 'Nanto! Dendjarasu Jii-san' reached its final chapter in the October 2025 issue of "Monthly CoroCoro Comic", without any gap, the serialization of 'Mecha Kawa▽Dendjarasu Jii-san' has begun in the November issue of the same magazine.
