Forger Family Cast Provides In-Depth Commentary! Report on "SPY x FAMILY Operation Season 3 Pre-Broadcast Special"

On ABEMA, the special program "SPY x FAMILY Operation Season 3 Pre-Broadcast Special" for the new fall 2025 TV anime SPY x FAMILY Season 3 was exclusively broadcast for free on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 8:00 PM, the day the broadcast began.

The program brought together the Forger family cast, including Takuya Eguchi (Loid Forger), Atsumi Tanezaki (Anya Forger), Saori Hayami (Yor Forger), and Kenichirō Matsuda (Bond Forger). It was announced that the first half of Season 3 Episode 1 would be an anime-original story, and Hayami commented, "I think it's a story that will make everyone feel 'SPY x FAMILY is back!'" Matsuda also expressed confidence in the new season, saying, "It's packed full of that 'SPY x FAMILY essence'!"

Additionally, Season 3 will feature three major episode arcs: "Loid's Past Arc," "Bus Hijack Arc" where Eden Academy students get caught up in a bus hijacking, and "Wheeler Arc" depicting the confrontation with the formidable enemy Wheeler. Eguchi commented on the series' depth beyond its surface brightness: "Of course there are warm family scenes, but this season also properly confronts the thrilling aspects of the job of being a 'spy.' I think it's packed with that 'precarious atmosphere' that flows through this work."

When asked about the "Bus Hijack Arc," Tanezaki said with a smile, "A bus hijacking would be a huge deal in reality... but it's become an incredibly fun story that makes you think 'this is SPY x FAMILY after all'!" Matsuda also emphasized the story's depth, saying, "The world of SPY x FAMILY actually depicts quite an unstable situation. But there's also a brightness that doesn't make you feel that, so it's a very well-balanced work that makes you think while also making you laugh – I felt that especially this time."

After thoroughly discussing the highlights, the program then held a quiz corner related to past episodes of the TV anime SPY x FAMILY, titled "TV Anime SPY x FAMILY Past Quiz!", in connection with this season's depiction of Loid's "past." While looking back at the story so far with some rather geeky SPY x FAMILY trivia questions, behind-the-scenes recording stories also emerged. For a question about the blazing fastball Yor displayed during Anya's dodgeball training in MISSION:10, Hayami revealed the direction she received from the production team befitting Yor's superhuman strength, and the studio was filled with laughter at this perfectly reasonable direction.
