"Chiikawa" is a popular manga created by the illustrator Nagano, who began posting it on X (formerly Twitter) in 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the Japan Character Award 2022 and, as announced in July 2024, the Japan Character Award 2024. The gap between the small, cute characters and their harsh world has gained wide popularity among adults and children alike, and its followers have now surpassed 4.32 million.

A new series of the "Chiikawa" anime is currently airing on Fuji TV's "Mezamashi TV" block from July 15, 2025. Furthermore, on July 28, the interactive facility "Chiikawa Park" opened at the Ikebukuro Sunshine City Annex.
