"She Was Too Cute, I Couldn't Let Go of Her Hand" - Sumire Uesaka & Marika Kono Look Back on the Umamusume 6th Event

The numbered event "Umamusume: Pretty Derby 6th EVENT The New Frontier" Fall Performance was held on October 18th and 19th, 2025.

On DAY1, Sumire Uesaka (voice of Agnes Tachyon) and Marika Kono (voice of Silence Suzuka) performed the song "transforming" in its first original performance at a numbered event, with a production featuring the two flying on wires, which drew gasps and cheers from the audience.

After finishing such an impressive stage performance, we conducted an interview with Uesaka and Kono immediately after the DAY1 performance ended. We asked them about their impressions of the song and behind-the-scenes stories.

――The moment you two flew during "transforming," the gasps and cheers from the venue were quite impressive.

Kono: I could hear the gasps, those "Ohhh!" voices!

Uesaka: Really? When I'm on stage, I usually can't hear anything (because I'm wearing in-ear monitors)... (Looking at the audience seats that had turned entirely green from the audience's glow sticks) I could see the turf really well! Like we were floating above the turf (laughs).

Kono: I could see it really well too (laughs). As the voice of Silence Suzuka, I was invited to participate as a guest this time, and I think we were able to achieve a flight that was unique to Saitama Super Arena (laughs).

――This was the first time you two sang "transforming" at a numbered event, wasn't it?

Kono: It was our first time! The moment I first held hands with Uesaka-san during rehearsal, she was too cute (laughs).

Uesaka: I was like, "What should I do?" (embarrassed).

Everyone: (Laughs)

Uesaka: My palms gradually got sweaty (laughs). I kept thinking, "What should I do, what should I do?" There was a scene where we gazed at each other for quite a long time.

Kono: That's right. There was a rehearsal mishap where we were supposed to let go of each other's hands, but she was too cute so I couldn't let go, and we ended up gazing at each other the whole time (laughs).
