Original Creator Delivers Divine Response to "I Want to Be Displayed Too!"—Voice Cast Portraits in SPY x FAMILY Episode 41 Become Hot Topic

Portraits that appeared in episode 41 of the anime SPY x FAMILY, which aired on October 25th, have become a hot topic for resembling the original manga's editor and the voice actors. Furthermore, in response to a voice actor's "request," original creator Tatsuya Endo surprisingly added an illustration, generating significant buzz.

The anime SPY x FAMILY is based on a manga (by Tatsuya Endo) serialized on "Shonen Jump+," and is a spy action + home comedy centered around a spy protagonist and his family. The original series has surpassed 38 million copies in cumulative circulation, with the first season of the anime beginning broadcast in April 2022, and the third TV series currently airing.

In episode 41, a scene was depicted showing portraits of graduates called Imperial Scholars, who achieved excellent academic records in the past, displayed in the hallways of Eden Academy.

This section was similarly depicted in the original manga, and the manga's editor, Shihei Lin, posted on X, "Well, yeah, ...you know." This was a reaction to the fact that one of the portraits, introduced as "this fellow had at least six Tonitrus Bolts," bore a striking resemblance to Lin.

It should be noted that Tonitrus Bolts are demerit points given for poor academic performance or misconduct, and accumulating eight results in immediate expulsion—a highly dishonorable distinction.
