The anime "Kingdom" is based on the hugely popular manga by Yasuhisa Hara, which has surpassed 120 million copies in total circulation. It is a grand historical romance set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods, depicting the exploits of Shin, a boy aiming to become a great general under the heavens, and Ei Sei (CV: Jun Fukuyama), the young king who would later become the First Emperor. The TV anime has been airing since Season 1 in 2012, and the fourth live-action film installment released in 2024, "Kingdom: Taishogun no Kikan," recorded box office revenue of 8 billion yen.

Episode 4 "Zhao's National Gate" Synopsis:
From Shun Sui Ju, who had been gathering information on the front lines to investigate the movements of the Qin army, a report arrived at Ri Boku's location that would greatly influence the course of the battle. Upon hearing this, what will Ri Boku do!?
Meanwhile, the Qin allied forces that arrived at Kin An, a supply relay point, gathered the generals of each army and unit, and the true objective of this battle was revealed. The Qin army accelerates its march to secure Retsu Bi, the national gate of Zhao which is the key to the operation, while the Zhao army attempts to stop them.
The battle with both armies' full strength has finally begun!
