The sight of a large number of adults being summoned for Anya's smile, and the continuously escalating scale of the game of make-believe, is highly amusing. With many elements added specifically for the anime—such as Frankie's lines and the airplane scene—this episode is a must-watch, even for fans of the original manga.
The anime SPY x FAMILY, currently being streamed in its entirety, is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, serialized on Shōnen Jump+ (Shueisha). It is a spy action-comedy that follows the brilliant spy Loid Forger, who disguises himself as a psychiatrist for a top-secret mission, and his "temporary family"—his assassin wife Yor Forger (CV: Saori Hayami) and his telepathic daughter Anya Forger—all living together while hiding their true identities from each other. TV Anime Season 1 aired in 2022, Season 2 in 2023, and Season 3 began broadcasting in October 2025.
