This highly innovative marriage vow immediately went viral among anime fans, with praise such as: "I've never seen such a spectacular proposal," "The world's most violent vow of love," and "A hand grenade engagement ring is so romantic!"

The anime SPY×FAMILY, currently available for streaming (in its entirety/all seasons), is based on the manga by Tatsuya Endo, serialized in Shonen Jump+ (Shueisha). It is a spy-action comedy about the master spy Loid Forger, who poses as a psychiatrist for a top-secret mission, and lives as a "forged family" with his assassin wife Yor Forger and his telepath daughter Anya Forger, all while concealing their true identities from one another. TV anime Season 1 aired in 2022, Season 2 in 2023, and Season 3 is scheduled to begin broadcasting in October 2025.
