Chiikawa is a popular manga created and serialized by illustrator Nagano on X (formerly Twitter) since 2020. It won the Grand Prix at the Japan Character Award 2022 and again at the Japan Character Award 2024, announced in July 2024. The gap between the tiny, cute characters and the severe world setting has garnered widespread popularity among both adults and children, with its follower count currently surpassing 4.36 million.

The new anime series of Chiikawa is currently airing within Fuji TV network's Mezamashi TV program, having started on July 15, 2025. Additionally, the hands-on facility "Chiikawa Park" opened in Sunshine City Annex in Ikebukuro on July 28th.
