Ai Makes a Surprise Appearance in Season 2 Opening! The Last Cut of "Oshi No Ko" is Too Emotional

Ai Hoshino (CV: Rie Takahashi) is alive!? In the opening video of the second season of the anime Oshi No Ko, Ai, who is supposed to be deceased, appears in the last scene. Many fans found their tear ducts loosening as they watched her looking over her children standing on stage.

Ai is a charismatic figure known as a legendary idol, and in her private life, she appeared to be living smooth sailing days as the mother of twin siblings. However, in the first episode, on the day of her long-awaited dome concert, she loses her life after being stabbed by a man who had become a stalker.

In episode 12, which was the premiere of the second season, the opening video played along with "FATAL," sung by GEMN, a unit consisting of actor & artist Kento Nakajima and singer-songwriter Tatsuya Kitani.

The video depicted Aqua Hoshino (CV: Takeo Otsuka) and others dressed as characters from "Tokyo Blade," performing with intense realism on a 2.5-dimensional stage. And at the end of the opening, there was the figure of Ai wearing a hat in the theater audience...
