The anime "Kingdom" is based on the hugely popular manga by Yasuhisa Hara, which has surpassed 120 million copies in circulation. It is an epic historical romance depicting the exploits of Shin (CV: Masakazu Morita), a boy who aims to become a great general under the heavens, and Ei Sei (CV: Jun Fukuyama), a young king who would later become the First Emperor of China, set in China during the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. The TV anime has been airing since the first series in 2012, and the fourth live-action film "Kingdom: The Return of the Great General," released in 2024, recorded box office revenue of 8 billion yen.

Meanwhile, the Qin allied forces who entered Retsubi Castle were about to engage in an important war council with Kan Ki, Yō Tan Wa, Hi Shin Unit commander Shin and strategist Karyō Ten, Gaku Ka Unit commander Mō Ten, and Gyoku Hō Unit commander Ō Hon, while supreme commander Ō Sen had disappeared.
