The anime "Let This Grieving Soul Retire!" is based on the popular light novel series by author Tsukikage and illustrator Chyko, which has over 2.4 million copies in circulation. It is a "strongest misunderstanding comedy fantasy" revolving around Kray Andrey, who has been lifted up as the leader of the strongest party, "Strange Grief." The first cour of the TV anime aired in 2024, and the second cour began broadcasting in October 2025.
